Lavish Living ROCKS The Runway by Jenn Salomon

I recently attended RAW Boston: SAVOR to check out the clothing brand Lavish Living. Thanks to an invitation by co-founder and designer, Jason Sergenton, I was able to get a first look at their collection. I must say, I was very impressed! Lavish Living just released their Fall/Winter collection and showcased their apparel at this awesome event, RAW Boston. For those who are not familiar with what RAW Boston is, it is an event where local artists showcase their new work. This event is filled with painters, photographers, makeup artists, stylists, jewelry designers, singers, and fashion designers.

At RAW Boston was where Lavish Living stole the show! The pieces showcased by this brand included casual wear for both men and women; making this brand appealing to a huge audience. I personally like the comfortability of the clothes. There is a mixture of edginess and comfortable wear. The brand offers jackets, shirts, and even shoes. Check out below some of the new designs seen on the RAW Boston runway!

Outerwear is a big part of this collection. Lavish Living has windbreakers, bomber jackets, and even jean jackets. Jean jackets are coming back in a HUGE way. I am so glad that Lavish Living incorporated this classic into their new collection.

I interviewed Lavish Living designer, Jason Sergenton, and got some great insight on the creative side of the brand.

Interview-

Jenn- What Inspired your brand and how was the process bringing it to life?

Jason- So many influences including family, friends, and just wanting to live a better lifestyle. My business partner Ronald Guinan Jr. and I brought the brand to life in 2013 with hopes that one day this could the only job we need.  Both fed up with the jobs we had at the time we needed something inspirational to do and become successful. Tired of wearing other brands and felt we could design better and more comfortable clothes.

Jenn– Why did you decide to choose fashion designing as a career?

Jason– The brand started making a lot of progress and the success was becoming fulfilling.  Fashion is a fun business, it’s always dope networking with others. Fashion is always evolving so it’s fun being innovative in a busy market.

Jenn- What is the creative process behind the clothing you choose to use?

Jason- To start, the goal is to give our brand it’s own identity. We like to separate ourselves from other brands. We are inspired by other countries styles and we like to add our own twist. We also have some collaborations in our  collection. We like to work with other designers to create one of a kind pieces.

Jenn- What are you trying to communicate to buyers through “Lavish Living”? How do you want them to feel?

Jason- Look good. Feel good. Get Lavish.

We want our consumers to wear great quality and feel good about it. New clothes make everyone feel good. We want  buyers to feel just as good wearing our brand as any other top brand whether it’s Gucci, Louis ETC.

Jenn- What makes you different from other Boston clothing brands?

Jason- What makes us different would be the different styles we have, we want our customers to be able to wear our brand for every occasion. We have garments for everyone but we really take pride in our one of a kind pieces. Buyers feel good when they can have something custom others can’t have. We are Original.

Jenn- Are there any upcoming events people should be on the lookout for?

Jason– Nov. 11th we are apart of another Fashion show “Cocktails & Couture” we will have a vendor table available.

Jenn- Where do you see your brand 5 years from now?

Jason- In 5 years from now we see our brand everywhere. We are influenced by top brands and hope to make an impact on fashion as well as them or better. We plan to open a store and continue to Stay Lavish and spread the feeling.

Jenn– I loved the clothes showcased at RAW Boston. How was that experience for you?

Jason– The experience was great. It was an amazing opportunity to be around other artists with talent and showcase our work as well. I can’t wait to do another show with RAW.

Yeezy Season x Amina Blue: The New Standard

By Adrienne Jack

So, we’ve arrived! Our new website is in full force and ready to give New England a taste of the high life. Since we feel Lavish is 'The New Standard' , What better way to kick off our blog than to talk about a great source of inspiration for Lavish Living’s work?

Kanye’s show, supported by Adidas and attended by an audience of 20,000, was probably one of the most anticipated fashion events of NYFW the past two years filled with military-inspired neutrals.  Kanye certainly didn't disappoint us. A debut stream of his seventh album, The Life of Pablo (from beginning to end), some stunning visuals, a preview of his new video game, and of course, noted names in the fashion industry commanding the runway, came together to showcase his extensive achievements from his most recent projects.

Models making an appearance in the show included fashion legends Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek and Kanye’s aide, Ian Connor, wearing simple but innovative sportswear pieces that were somehow even bolder than his previous displays. Kanye’s affiliation with some of the greatest talent the fashion world has seen, alongside his fresh ideas and passion for what he does, has given his work an infinite quality and established him as a leader in both the fashion and music industries. Of course, we wanted a piece of that pie.

Two years ago, we had the pleasure of getting in touch with Amina Khan, more widely known as Amina Blue, urban-turned-runway Brooklyn model at the forefront of Yeezy’s first two Seasons. Since walking for Season 1, she’s taken high fashion by surprise with her confidence and revolutionary physique – making her the perfect muse for LL’s image.

For our FW 2015 campaign The New Standard, we contacted with New York-based photographer Alx Guzman to endorse an image he created of Amina summer 2014 – a photo that stood out for its power, elegance and ability to turn heads. The subjects of Guzman’s photos embody a self-assured, “So what?” attitude – a quality that our own models communicate well.

Amina Blue has also been shot by the likes of Matt Adam, appeared in A$AP Ferg’s “New Level” video, and has been featured in leading international magazines like C-Heads, Oyster and i-D – she’s definitely accomplished a lot since her rise to fame last year. With her visionary curves and editorial features, she’s even been cited as Kanye’s “favorite new model.” We’re excited to flaunt the German-Pakistani fashion killa on our latest line of t-shirts, which were exhibited at the Boston En Vogue Classical Luxury Show during Boston Fashion Week last October.

But that’s not all we’re excited about. Mr. West’s endeavors, inspired by his chic-athleisure style and today’s important black model movement, will continue to motivate LL’s ethos. We’re looking forward to seeing his future collaborations with Adidas, and to finding out what the future holds for Amina’s flourishing career.

Check out The New Standard collection, plus our exclusive new release “LLXMK,” here.

The Lavish Experience: Brought to you by Lawrence Edmondson

Lawerence Edmondson

Working with Lavish Living Collection was the greatest experience I’ve had as a model. The quality of the clothing was exceptional. The photoshoot shoot was a welcoming event to say the least. Mingling wasn’t an issue because of the diverse group and their different perspectives. Not to mention, the most important thing exhibited at the shoot: the ability of LLC to make everyone feel comfortable. It did not feel like a photoshoot. It felt like a young group of cultured men and women gathered to chill and incorporate their own style into this brand. The hospitality and sophisticated manners shown by the LLC staff, was the hook-line and sinker for me, and the main reason everyone could just be themselves. The fluency of the shoot instilled, no doubt in my mind, that Lavish Living is really a lifestyle.

At first I did not know what to expect. The shoot started with a total of seven people all from different backgrounds. The only girl present at the start of the shoot was a pretty, young female who had gone to school with Jason Sergenton (Co-CEO of LLC). She had done plenty of shoots before, and was currently working at one of the top three prestigious nightclubs in Boston. The rest of the candidates were males who were all doing their own thing: a barber who took home appointments, a photographer who had his own photography label, a carpenter who sold wooden necklaces and bracelets made from scratch, an aspiring model, and me, a college grad with an English degree. This just goes to show all of the versatility LLC had included in their project, and this was not an accident. A perfect example of some of LLC’s main points in their mission statement: urban, elegant, and stylish all displayed in the models selected for this photoshoot.

Besides the strategy of putting all of these people into the same room, LLC provided complimentary drinks on the house. Once I saw the drinks, I knew things were going to be just fine. On top of that, the cameraman was an energetic, positive dude who let you freestyle your own poses and moves with a little bit of position tweaking when needed. He also provided the music for everyone and with DJ Esko’s “Project E.T.” tape dropping earlier that week there were no complaints about song selection. Between all of these things I was in the zone and ready to bang out these pictures, and so was everyone else.

I was feeling the clothes that were laid out in front of me. There were wheat joggers, black and white striped crew neck sweaters, hoodies, embroidered hats and much more. I soon found out that these items were hand designed by a specific designer: Mary Kate Macdonald. This came as a surprise to me because the quality of these products were so high-caliber that you would have thought they were put together by multiple designers. The feel to this season’s collection definitely had that smooth urban vibe to it. The women’s collection also had it’s own classic feel to it combined with an elegant look which included a body tight two-piece dress. The top piece was an all black long sleeve crop-top with a white stripe going down the arm on each side. The bottom piece was an all black high-waisted slim fit dress that stopped right below the knees. Did I mention this two-piece set was made from a mildly see-through, tough sheer material? Needless to say, The fellas had no problems waiting as the female pieces were being modeled.

This photoshoot helped me to understand and see how a shoot should really be done. The professionalism and positive vibes that were exhibited at this shoot were one of a kind. This photoshoot taught me that being comfortable is the most important thing at events like this. It goes beyond the photoshoot. I learned being comfortable, and being in your zone, is the best way to be anywhere. You will excel and get the most out of life this way.  Without comfort-ability being yourself is harder to accomplish and the LLC staff obviously knew this. This is how I knew Lavish Living was really about what their mission statement said. Now I understand why this brand says,

"Love is Life, Life is Lavish. "
